My grandfather was very frugal, so he must have liked
the fact that he and Emma were married by Emma's
brother who was a minister, costing them nothing.

The day grandpa Nelson died the whole family was at Lynne and Cliffs apple orchard because Lynne had asked them all to come. All the children with their spouses and all the grandchildren were there.
Eleanor was on the bed next to grandpa reading bible stories to him for a long time. George and Alden spent a long time with him.
Everyone had just sat down to eat and they heard grandpa get up and go to the bathroom when he collapsed.
All the men rushed upstairs and were up there for a while, then Alden came down and told everyone else. Lynne collapsed crying.
With all the crying and waling, Eunie was told to take the grandchildren outside. She took all the grandchildren (I was only 2, so perhaps not me) across the street to look at the sheep. When the grandchildren got back the undertaker had arrived and was taking care of his business.
